The Dutch bar and cafe owners are providing an important lesson for such owners everywhere. When faced with an inherently ridiculous and unjust law the proper response is to ignore it. When people join together and stand up to unjust authority that authority crumples.

The government cannot run all the cafes in Holland, only their owners can. And the government cannot afford to close them all either. The real power lies with the people, not with the government.

This law is based on lies and propaganda, as such it is a “bad” law.

8th August 2006 the HSE in the document OC 255/15 article9 state
for some strange reason hmm it has been changed to OC 255/16 Paragraph 14
� HSE cannot produce epidemiological evidence to link levels of exposure to second hand smoke to the raised risk of contacting specific diseases�.

Smoke-haters were never banned from investing their own money into smoke-free venues, were they?

Smokingban in Holland

I am one of those affected pubowners in Holland.
We all know that smoking is not good for your health but if you have the choice to visit a smoking or non smoking pub, that’s YOUR choice. Walking on the street and inhaling lots of other damaging goods, you DON’T have a choice !
What we do in our freetime is OURS ! People stay at home and the pubs are running empty, thousands will go bust, thanks to this 'healthy law'.

Tell the smokers to smoke in their own house, come to the bar to drink only.It’s not fair that they endanger the public with second hand smoking.
Message to the smokers...smoke can take 10 years away of your life, shortens life span, leads to poorer quality of life!
Wait until you suffer from lung cancer and you’ll be begging to the Doctor to give you a chance to live longer..but then it’s too late already! Think about it!!!
