WASHINGTON, May 29 (Xinhua) -- A bus struck six vehicles on Interstate 95 in the U.S. state of Virginia on Friday, killing five people and sending 34 to hospitals, according to local authorities.

The preliminary investigation indicated that traffic was slowing southbound for an upcoming work zone, state police said in a news release, adding that the bus failed to slow for traffic and struck six vehicles.
